The Problem

Organisations like Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity do incredibly important work that impacts thousands of people each year.  While annual donations from Roald Dahl Story Company help the charity cover their core operating costs, the rest of their work is voluntarily funded. The charity’s previous site was slow to load and difficult to navigate, which begun impacting some of the core fundraising activities of the charity because the process of finding key information and donating was convoluted. As a result, they were seeing a huge drop off rate of site visitors. Additionally, the task of producing, updating, and organising the website’s content was putting strain on a small team within the charity who had other responsibilities to stay on top of beyond website management. With time being so valuable, the charity needed a platform that would allow them to swiftly update their website with new information and quickly publish fresh content.

The Solution

To address these concerns, our team: Created a brand new website for Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity Designed to reflect the look and feel of the charity whilst keeping the focus on the charity’s amazing work Implemented a simple and straightforward navigation bar to make it easy to find important information about the charity, its mission, its work, its team, and its incredible Roald Dahl Nurses Introduced our Content Manager tool to streamline the process for uploading and editing the site’s copy, key stats, resources, and articles Used Beacon CRM forms to help reduce the donation process down to one single page Built an API to integrate with the Beacon CRM to create an easy newsletter sign-up section in the website footer

The Outcome

Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children’s Charity have just celebrated their 30th anniversary and are in a great position to continue their amazing work. Thanks to their new website, the charity has experienced: More than double the unique page views compared to the old site Less than half the exit rate they were seeing on their old site An average 57% increase in online donations from previous years Increase in caused-focused audience activity  Increased traffic to pages containing valuable information about the charity.
