How to add a Hosted Video block to the Page Editor

The Hosted Video Block allows you to add different video file types to a page and offers a set of options including a CDN (Content Delivery Network) path switch field.

1. Add a Hosted Video Block from Page Blocks In the Page Editor, click ‘Add’ from beneath the Page Blocks title. In the Blocks pop-up, open the ‘Visual Blocks’ section and then, from beneath the ‘Video’ title, choose either the ‘>> Video's’ or ‘>> HTML5’ option. 2. Add a preloaded video file to the Hosted Video Block If choosing to add video's, add this block to the page and then select the Hosted Video block (it will become framed by a purple border) and right-click on the item to open the ‘Hosted Video (video's) options’ pop-up. Click the ‘+’ symbol on the right of one of the empty video file fields and add a preloaded video from either the MP4, WebM or OGV folders in the CMS. The file's path will automatically populate the field. For HTML5, add the HTML5 option and a Hosted Video HTML5 Video Block will be added to the page. Select the block and right click it to open the options pop-up. Under "MP4 File" in the options, click the ‘+’ symbol on the right of the empty video file field and add a preloaded video. You can only include MP4 files with HTML5 video options. The video will automatically display as a preview on the page. 3. Add a cover image to the Hosted Video Block To add a cover image to your video, ensure you have a high-res picture saved to your desktop, then drag it onto the ‘Drag Picture Here’ field in the ‘Hosted Video options’ pop-up. 4. Configure the Hosted Video Block options The default Hosted Video block configurations are: Loop Video: No Autoplay Video: No CDN Domain: Blank Comment: Blank Change these in the ‘Hosted Video options’ pop-up. Here’s how each field functions: Loop Video: When ‘Yes’ is selected the video will play in a constant loop. Autoplay Video: When ‘Yes’ is selected the video will play automatically once the page has opened. CDN Domain: A Content Delivery Network (CDN) domain is a URL used to request assets via a CDN. If required, enter the domain into this field. Comment: Add a comment for your reference when viewing on the Page Editor. The comment doesn't show on the front-end. It can be left blank if not needed. Explore this video for more information on a CDN.
