How to add SSIs to the Page Editor

Server Side Includes (SSI) is a simple interpreted server-side scripting language used almost exclusively for the Web. The most frequent use of SSI is to include the contents of one or more files into a web page on a web server. For example, a web page containing a daily quotation could include the quotation on your page by placing a code into the file of the web page.

1. Add from Page Blocks When you are in the Page Editor, highlight the column you would like to add your SSI to and click on the Add Page Blocks button. Under the Gadget and Inserts section in the pop up, click on SSI Insert and then Create. 2. Uploading an SSI This will insert an SSI block into the editor; double-click on it to bring up the hotlink directory. You can choose from any SSIs that have previously been uploaded, or leave the Page Editor and create an SSI in the Server Sides Includes folder. 3. Examples of SSI uses You could include a dynamic social feed, such as Twitter updates as an SSI on the page. Or an SSI that includes the same header on every page so that if there are any changes to be made, you don't have to manually update the headers, just update the SSI.
